About usAbout us![]() Our kaupapa is to provide our community with a space that embodies manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and aroha.
From our modest space, we achieve remarkable mahi, connecting our community through learning, friendships, crafts, fitness, and a wide variety of events and activations. We offer inclusive programmes for everyone, from pēpē to kaumātua, including playgroups, school holiday programs, dance classes, te reo, fitness, karate, afterschool activities, and a community resilience group. We dedicate substantial resources to our senior community, providing friendship clubs, knitting, art and coloring groups, chair yoga, quilting, mosaics and much more The House is available for hire and is well suited for children's birthday parties. We can also host meetings/private counseling sessions/workshops/small events. Check out our venue hire page for photos and more information. The Green Bay Community House is governed by a volunteer Management Committee. The centre is managed by Sara Mihaere who is supported by Analisa Nicholson & Kellie Dunlop who all work really hard to make sure the facility runs smoothly. We also have a number of volunteers and supportive locals who are always on hand to help at our events and with our activities. Please get in touch with us if you would like to help out, become a member or run an activity at the Community House! We would also like to acknowledge the support of the Whau Local Board, Trusts West Auckland, and Lotteries who provide us with vital funding so we are able to bring activities and events to the Community. |
